Riyadh, Dec 19 (V7N)— The Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia has issued a cautionary notice to Bangladeshi expatriates, urging them to stay vigilant against online fraud. The warning, issued on Tuesday, highlights the rise of fake advertisements on various social media platforms targeting expatriates.

The notice stated that fraudulent ads have been circulating on YouTube channels, Facebook pages, and other social media platforms, promising assistance with passports, birth registration, certificates, and appointments for embassy services. These scams are designed to deceive expatriates and extort money through misleading advertisements.

The embassy clarified that it has no connection with these unofficial platforms and strongly advised expatriates not to engage in financial transactions based on such ads. Instead, expatriates are encouraged to rely solely on the embassy's official website and designated communication channels for information and services.

The embassy further requested that individuals report any issues related to expatriate services directly to its official hotline or through authorized channels.

This warning aims to protect expatriates from falling victim to scams and ensure they receive authentic and secure services.
