Florida, Apr 22 (V7N)- A massive fire erupted on a Delta Airlines flight during takeoff at Orlando International Airport in Florida, USA. The incident occurred at around 11:15 am local time on Monday (April 21), according to a report by BBC News.

The aircraft, which was preparing for departure to Atlanta, was carrying a total of 294 people — including 282 passengers, 10 cabin crew, and 2 pilots — when smoke and flames were seen coming from its right engine.

Video footage of the incident shows thick smoke and flames billowing from the engine as panicked passengers evacuated the plane using emergency inflatable slides. Despite the terrifying scene, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

The airport fire and rescue units responded swiftly and managed to control the situation. All passengers and crew were safely evacuated from the aircraft.

Authorities at Orlando International Airport confirmed the evacuation but did not provide specific details about the cause of the fire. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This near-disaster raises renewed concerns over aviation safety and emergency preparedness, especially during high-traffic travel periods. Delta Airlines has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the incident.
