Riyadh, May 13 (V7N) – Former US President Donald Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, marking the start of a three-day tour of the Middle East, with stops scheduled in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates following his visit to the kingdom.
According to a report by CNN News, Trump was received at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS). This visit marks Trump’s first trip to Saudi Arabia since beginning his second term in office.
Immediately upon arrival, Trump held a one-on-one meeting with MBS at the airport, in a setting decorated with portraits of prominent Saudi royal family members. He was accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Analysts suggest that this high-profile meeting may serve to reaffirm the strategic alliance between the United States and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the face of increasing geopolitical influence from China and Russia in the region.
Trump's visit is expected to focus on defense cooperation, energy security, and regional stability, with further bilateral talks planned during his upcoming visits to Doha and Abu Dhabi.
