Tehran, Nov 03 (V7N) — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran is not interested in direct talks with the United States and will under no circumstances halt its uranium enrichment program. Speaking in an interview with Al Jazeera on Saturday, Araghchi emphasized that Iran will not discuss its missile program, asserting, “No nation disarms itself. What cannot be achieved in war cannot be achieved in negotiations.”
He criticized the United States for presenting “unacceptable and impossible conditions” regarding Iran’s nuclear program. “We are ready to address concerns about our peaceful nuclear program through negotiations, but only indirectly,” Araghchi said.
Araghchi also issued a warning to Israel, stating that any future aggressive actions would have severe consequences. He claimed that Iran has gained important experience from recent conflicts with Israel.
In recent weeks, Israel and the United States carried out attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow. Araghchi asserted that enriched uranium remains intact beneath the rubble of these sites and that Iran’s nuclear technology has not been damaged.
According to Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran still possesses nearly 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent. While former US President Donald Trump had claimed that Iran’s nuclear facilities were destroyed, the IAEA confirmed that most of the uranium remains stored at the damaged sites.
Iran’s firm stance signals growing tensions in the Middle East, highlighting the challenges for diplomatic engagement over nuclear non-proliferation and regional security.
