Washington, Jan 28 (V7N)- The United States has dispatched another naval fleet toward Iran, US President Donald Trump has confirmed. The information was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

According to the report, the US Navy’s carrier strike group USS Abraham Lincoln arrived in the Middle East on Tuesday (January 27). President Trump made the announcement a day after the aircraft carrier entered the region. However, he did not disclose details about the second warship or fleet being sent.

The USS Abraham Lincoln is one of the most powerful and strategically important carrier strike groups in the US Navy. The aircraft carrier, which is roughly the size of three football fields, is equipped with state-of-the-art combat technology.

The warship is 333 meters (1,092 feet) long and can travel at a speed of up to 56 kilometers per hour. It can carry up to 90 aircraft, including advanced fighter jets such as the F-35C stealth fighter, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, E-2D Hawkeye, EA-18G Growler, and MH-60R/S Seahawk helicopters.

The carrier strike group has a total crew of 5,680 personnel, including sailors and aviation staff.

The deployment comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, though US officials have not yet clarified the specific mission or objectives of the additional fleet movement toward the region.
