London, Mar 06 (V7N) — British police have arrested four men on suspicion of spying on locations and individuals linked to the Jewish community in London on behalf of Iran’s intelligence service, authorities said on Friday.

Counter Terrorism Policing London officers carried out a pre-planned operation shortly after 1 a.m., detaining one Iranian national and three dual British‑Iranian nationals at separate addresses in the Barnet, Watford and Harrow. The suspects, aged 22, 40, 52 and 55, were taken into custody on suspicion of “assisting a foreign intelligence service” under the UK’s National Security Act.

Police said the arrests followed reports of suspected surveillance of sites and individuals associated with the Jewish community in the London area. Searches are ongoing at the addresses where the suspects were detained, as well as other properties in Wembley and Barnet.

In addition to the four main suspects, six other men were also arrested in Harrow on suspicion of assisting an offender, and all 10 remain in police custody as inquiries continue.

Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, described the operation as part of a long‑running investigation to disrupt “malign activity”. She urged members of the public, particularly within the Jewish community, to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the authorities.

The Metropolitan Police said the investigation is ongoing and emphasized that the arrests are part of broader efforts to protect national security and prevent potential threats.
