Iran's foreign ministry has summoned the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France in response to their countries' condemnation of Iran's recent attack on Israeli territory. On Sunday, the Director General of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Western Europe summoned the ambassadors to convey Iran's perspective on the matter, according to IRNA news agency.

The UK ambassador to Iran, Simon Shercliffe, German ambassador Hans Udo Müzel, and French ambassador Nicolas Hoss attended the meeting with Iranian officials.

During the meeting, the Director General of Iran's Western Europe Department cited Article 51 of the UN Charter, asserting that Iran's actions against Israeli military bases were justified as self-defense. The attack came in response to Israel's earlier strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.

While Iran expected support or at least neutrality from the European countries, the three nations condemned Iran's actions without addressing Israel's initial attack on Iranian soil. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized this perceived inconsistency as "duplicitous behavior."

The ambassadors of the UK, Germany, and France assured Iranian officials that they would convey Iran's message to their respective capitals, indicating that diplomatic tensions over the issue may continue to escalate.
