In a notable shift, Hamad International Airport in Qatar has clinched the title of the best airport globally, according to the latest Skytrax World Airport Awards for 2024. This accolade marks a significant triumph for Hamad International Airport, overshadowing Singapore's Changi Airport, which has held the prestigious title 12 times in the past.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards, renowned for their credibility in the aviation industry, rely on passenger votes from across the globe to determine the top airports. The recent announcement by Skytrax has positioned Hamad International Airport at the pinnacle of airport excellence.

Reflecting on this remarkable achievement, Badr Al Meer, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group, expressed profound gratitude for the recognition. He highlighted that 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Hamad International Airport's operations, making the honor of being voted the world's best airport for the third time even more significant.

Additionally, Haneda Airport in Tokyo secured the fourth spot, with Tokyo's Narita Airport following closely behind in fifth place. Notably, Hong Kong Airport witnessed a notable ascent from the 22nd position to the 11th spot, demonstrating resilience in the face of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and a surge in passenger numbers.

However, it is noteworthy that no airport from the United States made it into the list of the top 10 airports worldwide, underscoring the dynamic nature of global aviation rankings and the competitive landscape among airports worldwide.
