Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a significant change in the validity period of Umrah visas, shortening it from 29 Zilqad to 15 Zilqad. The decision aims to streamline the movement of pilgrims in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, as reported by Gulf News.

According to the Ministry, foreign Umrah pilgrims will now be allowed to stay in Saudi Arabia until May 24, corresponding to the 15th of Zilqad. This adjustment comes in preparation for the upcoming holy Hajj season, which commences at the start of Zilhaj.

Typically, Umrah visas issued by Saudi Arabia are valid for 90 days. However, under the new directive, individuals with Umrah visas must depart the country by the 15th of Zilqad. The Ministry has emphasized that the validity period of Umrah visas will not be extended beyond the standard 90 days.

This move is aimed at ensuring efficient management of pilgrim traffic during the transition from Umrah to the Hajj season, facilitating the smooth conduct of religious rituals and enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience for worshippers visiting the sacred sites in Saudi Arabia.
