Interim President Mohammad Mokhbar has lauded the strong leadership of the late President Ibrahim Raisi, asserting that his tenure has fortified Iran into an invincible power. Mokhbar made these remarks in an address to the Iranian Parliament, as reported by the Associated Press on Monday.

Mokhbar highlighted Raisi’s accomplishments, particularly in boosting Iran's crude oil production to over three and a half million barrels per day, which remains the primary source of hard currency for the nation. He emphasized the economic stability maintained under Raisi’s administration despite military engagements in Iraq, Israel, and Pakistan.

"This power, this management, and this strength are not ordinary feats," Mokhbar stated. "All these achievements were possible due to the guidance of the Supreme Leader and the sincere efforts of Ibrahim Raisi."

The praise comes in the wake of a tragic helicopter accident on May 19 in Zolfa, near the Azerbaijan border, which claimed the lives of President Raisi, the foreign minister, the governor of East Azerbaijan, and several others. The officials were returning from inaugurating a reservoir project.

Following Raisi's death, Vice President Mohammad Mokhbar, 68, assumed the role of interim president in accordance with Iran's constitution.

Looking ahead, Iran is preparing for a presidential election on June 28 to find Raisi’s successor. The registration period for candidates opens on Thursday and will last for five days. Analysts speculate that Mokhbar might be among the candidates registering for the election.

This period marks a significant transition for Iran, as the nation reflects on Raisi’s impactful leadership while gearing up for new presidential elections amidst ongoing geopolitical challenges.
