London, July 2, 2024 — As the UK prepares for its national elections on July 4, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak remains undeterred despite trailing in various opinion polls. Sunak's Conservative Party is currently 20 points behind the Labour Party in most surveys, but the Prime Minister is confident of a victory.

Speaking to The Guardian on Sunday, Sunak said, "Yes, I am fighting hard. I believe that I will win this election." He added, "I think people are realizing the dangers of a Labour government and they are waking up."

The latest poll by the UK's Observer newspaper on Saturday indicated that the Labour Party would secure 40 percent of the vote, while the Conservative Party's support stands at 20 percent.

Further complicating matters for Sunak, several major UK newspapers have announced their endorsements. The Sunday Times, in a notable shift, expressed support for the Labour Party, arguing that the country needs a radical change after 14 years of Conservative rule. The Daily Mirror, The Guardian, and The Economist have also backed Labour, while the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph continue to support the Conservatives.

Despite these challenges, Sunak remains resolute in his campaign, maintaining that the Conservative Party can still turn the tide before the elections.
