The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified, with recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killing two Hezbollah fighters. The Lebanese health ministry also reported another death from a prior Israeli attack. The violence has escalated following the assassination of Hezbollah's top military commander, Fuad Shukr, and Hamas's political leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Hezbollah, which has been exchanging fire with Israel almost daily since October 7 in support of Hamas, claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Israeli military positions. The cross-border clashes have resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with hundreds killed in Lebanon, including fighters and civilians, and several Israeli soldiers and civilians also losing their lives.

The situation has led to widespread displacement along the border regions as the conflict continues to escalate.
