Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed hope that the situation in Bangladesh will normalize soon.

As a neighboring country, India has concerns about the situation in Bangladesh, Modi stated during his Independence Day speech at Red Fort on Thursday.

"We hope minorities, particularly Hindus, will be safe. We will support Bangladesh on its path to progress," he mentioned.

Earlier on August 8, Modi extended his best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on assuming his new responsibilities.

Modi emphasized, "We hope for an early return to normalcy, ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and all other minority communities."

He reiterated India's commitment to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the shared aspirations for peace, security, and development.
