KYIV, Aug 25 (v7n)- Russia launched a series of attacks on northern, eastern, and southern Ukraine on Sunday, resulting in at least four deaths and 37 injuries, according to Ukrainian military and local authorities. The strikes targeted several frontline regions, including Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk.

In the northern region of Sumy, a missile attack killed one person and injured at least 16 others, including three children. In Kharkiv, 13 people were injured, including a 4-year-old child, and significant damage was reported to infrastructure, including a gas pipeline and several houses. The air force reported that while many of the missiles launched by Russia did not reach their targets, the attacks still caused significant harm.

Ukraine's air defense managed to intercept and destroy eight out of nine drones launched by Russia over the Mykolaiv region. Meanwhile, in the southern region of Kherson, ongoing Russian attacks killed one person and injured six others. Additionally, an aerial bomb attack in the Sumy region's Svesa village resulted in two more deaths and two injuries.

These attacks follow Ukraine's recent incursion into Russia's Kursk region, which Kyiv said was aimed at disrupting Moscow's ability to conduct such strikes. The situation highlights the continued and escalating violence in the conflict, which has been ongoing since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Both sides continue to deny targeting civilians in the conflict.
