Dhaka, Jan 09, (V7N) - A 30-year-old man, Mamunur Rashid, tragically lost his life after being struck by a speeding car near the Uttara BNS Center around 6:30 PM.

Details of the Incident:
Mamunur, hailing from Kona Panchrukhi village in Nandail upazila, Mymensingh, was crossing the road when the accident occurred. Eyewitness Mahbubur Rahman Bakul reported that Mamunur and another individual sustained injuries and were initially taken to Bangladesh Medical College. While one victim was treated and discharged, Mamunur's condition worsened, prompting his transfer to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he passed away at approximately 9 PM.

Local Response:
The speeding car was seized by locals, who also detained the driver and handed both over to the police.

Family and Background:
Mamunur, who had been residing with his wife in North Azampur, Dhaka, had been married just six months ago. His elder brother, Md. Harunur Rashid, shared that Mamunur was out on personal errands when the fatal accident happened.

Official Confirmation:
Md. Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Camp, confirmed Mamunur's death based on the hospital's report.
