New Delhi, Oct 24 (V7N) — At least 20 people have died and several others were injured after a passenger bus caught fire following a collision with a motorcycle in India’s Andhra Pradesh early Friday morning.

According to Indian media reports, the tragic accident occurred in Kurnool district when a bus traveling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad collided with a motorcycle from behind. The impact caused the two-wheeler to get stuck underneath the vehicle, triggering a massive fire that quickly engulfed the bus.

More than 40 passengers were on board at the time of the accident. While some managed to escape through the windows, many others were trapped inside the burning vehicle.

Authorities fear that the death toll could rise further, as rescue operations are still underway and several victims remain in critical condition.
