Pabna, Nov 25 (V7N) – A tragic road accident in Pabna has claimed the lives of a father and his daughter while injuring two others. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Monday on the Pabna-Dhaka Highway in Sujanagar Upazila, at a location known as 24-Mile Durgapur.

According to Madhupur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizar Rahman, the deceased are Jabdul Sheikh, 35, and his eight-year-old daughter, Zubaiya Khatun, residents of Nandiara village in Aminpur Thana. Two others, Jabdul’s five-year-old son Momin Sheikh and nephew Siam, also 5, sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Pabna General Hospital.

Police reported that a truck carrying jute from Pabna to Kashinathpur struck the motorcycle carrying Jabdul and his family while traveling in the same direction. The motorcycle was crushed beneath the truck, killing Jabdul and Zubaiya on the spot. Local residents immediately rescued the injured children and rushed them to the hospital.

Highway police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and impounded the truck involved, while the driver fled the scene. Authorities have launched a search to apprehend the truck driver.
