Bandarban, Mar 22 (V7N) – Several passengers were injured, including four critically, after a passenger bus lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch in Bandarban early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred when a Saudia Paribahan bus traveling from Dhaka to Bandarban reached the area near Sualak University at around 5:00 am. According to initial reports, the bus lost control while descending a winding hill slope and fell into a deep ditch.
Local residents and law enforcement officers rushed to the scene and rescued the passengers, who were taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Among the injured, four individuals—Milan Chandra Das (26), Rimon Das (27), Riyad (25), and Nafi Rizwan (28)—are reported to be in critical condition. After receiving primary treatment, they were referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for advanced care.
The bus was carrying around 40 passengers at the time of the accident, and many sustained serious injuries due to the impact. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, with preliminary indications pointing to loss of control on the hilly road.
