Kolkata, Mar 22 (V7N)- Faisal Karim and Alamgir Hossain, arrested in West Bengal, India, have been sent back to 14-day judicial custody by a court. Both are accused of murdering Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent leader of Bangladesh’s Inquilab Manch.

The order was issued by a Bidhannagar court in West Bengal on Sunday (March 22).

The West Bengal State Police Special Task Force has requested permission to interrogate the accused while in custody, in coordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Previously, they had been held in police custody for 14 days and were produced in court after that period.

Authorities reported that Faisal Karim and Alamgir Hossain entered India from Bangladesh through the Meghalaya border, reportedly facilitated by a middleman named Philip Sangma. Earlier this month, Indian law enforcement agencies arrested Sangma at the Bangaon border.
