Dhaka, Mar 22 (V7N) – Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has alleged that the government led by Tarique Rahman is being subjected to continuous “propaganda and misinformation.”

He made the remarks at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Sunday afternoon.

Rizvi said that the current environment in the country ensures freedom of expression, stating, “There is a guarantee in the present society that no one will disappear for speaking out.”

Rejecting allegations against the party, he emphasized that BNP does not have a history of establishing authoritarian rule. “BNP has never promoted fascism; rather, it has a history of resisting it,” he said.

He also acknowledged that eliminating social injustice is a gradual process, adding that the government remains committed to ensuring social justice across the country.

During the briefing, Rizvi announced a two-day program by the BNP to mark the upcoming Independence Day. The program includes discussion meetings, hoisting of the party flag at offices, and paying tributes to commemorate the occasion.
