Jhalokathi, Dec 19 (V7N) — A Jubo dal leader was killed and another seriously injured in a tragic road accident at Krishnakathi BRAC Mor on the outskirts of Jhalokathi town along the Khulna–Barishal highway on Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. when a passenger bus of Rayan Transport, traveling from Khulna to Kuakata, collided with a moving motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, Mizan, a Jubo dal leader from Mathbaria Upazila in Pirojpur district, died on the spot. Another senior joint convener of Mathbaria Upazila Jubo dal, Badal, sustained critical injuries.

Local residents quickly transported the injured Badal to Jhalokathi Sadar Hospital. As his condition worsened, doctors referred him to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Following the accident, the bus was intercepted by police in Kalijira area, and the driver, Md. Ibrahim, was taken into custody. He is currently under the supervision of Jhalokathi Sadar Police Station.

Police have confirmed that legal action is underway regarding the incident, and further investigations are being conducted to determine the circumstances of the crash.
