Narayanganj, Dec 26 (V7N)- A sand-filled bulkhead sank in the Buriganga River in Fatulla, Narayanganj, leaving two workers missing, authorities said on Friday.
The incident occurred early Friday morning in front of a private dog yard's ghat in the Dharmaganj area of Fatulla.
According to Naval Police Superintendent Alamgir Hossain, the bulkhead was stationary in the river when a Dhaka-bound Sundarban-16 passenger launch collided with it, causing it to sink.
Three workers on the bulkhead managed to swim to safety, but two others are still missing. A search operation is currently underway to locate them.
Authorities have urged vessel operators and workers to exercise caution while navigating the Buriganga River, especially in areas with stationary structures.
