Pabna, Jan 05 (V7N) — Police recovered the body of a Russian national from a residential building in the Green City area of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Maksim Raibakov, 30, an employee of Atomtek Energo Company. His body was found in Room 31 on the third floor of Residential Building No. 8.

According to police and company sources, Raibakov’s roommate, fellow Russian national Frolov, had returned to his room after a leave in Cox’s Bazar and discovered Raibakov lying motionless on the floor. He immediately informed the authorities.

A security team from the company, a Russian doctor, and officers from Ishwardi Police Station promptly arrived at the scene. As part of the legal procedure, a preliminary inquest report was prepared. Initial investigations suggest that Raibakov may have died due to a stroke.

Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Police Station, Md. Mominuzzaman, stated that the body was sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Following completion of the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the company, which will coordinate with the Russian embassy to repatriate it to Russia.
