Rajshahi, Feb 20 (V7N) – A debate competition on the topic "Increasing the cultivation of drought-resistant crops can help prevent groundwater wastage" was held in Godagari, Rajshahi.
The event, organized by CCBVO with support from Bread for the World Germany, took place under the "Rakhagola Sustainable Food Security Program." It involved the participation of science clubs from 40 secondary schools in the Godagari Upazila, with a focus on issues such as climate change adaptation, child marriage prevention, communal harmony, and gender equality.
The final round of the competition was held on Wednesday, February 19, with schools including Birail High School, Huzrapur High School, Premtali Sukbasha High School, and Bhattopara Girls' High School participating. Professor Mohammad Abdus Salam, President of CCBVO, was the chief guest and inaugurator of the event.
Special guests included CCBVO's General Secretary, Executive Director, and Rakhagola Model Researcher, Bir Muktijoddha Mohammad Sarwar-e-Kamal, Rakhagola Coordination Committee President Sudhir Soren, and CCBVO Coordinator Arif Ether. The debate was moderated by Mohammad Nurul Islam, Headmaster of Birail High School.
Judges for the competition were Smita Samjadar, Assistant Teacher at Rajabarihat High School; Ismail Hossain, Assistant Teacher at Kakonhat High School; and Mohammad Mamunur Rashid, Assistant Teacher at Bolia Dyeing Adarsha High School.
Birail High School emerged as the champion, with Bhattopara Girls' High School as the runner-up and Premtali Sukbasha High School securing third place. The event was hosted by Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Headmaster of Birail High School, and coordinated by CCBVO’s Education Social Organizer Imrul Sadat.
