Dhaka, Oct 11 (V7N): As the Hindu community celebrates Durga Puja, the country's largest religious festival, Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Primary and Mass Education Adviser, emphasized that all religious communities in Bangladesh coexist peacefully.
During his visit to the Siddheswari Kali Mandir on Bailey Road, he noted that the Durga Puja festivities were proceeding smoothly across the country. Dr. Poddar stressed the importance of maintaining religious harmony and unity to ensure a peaceful environment.
He remarked, "If we uphold harmony and solidarity, those with ill intentions will be unable to achieve their goals." He added that people of all faiths have long enjoyed a friendly and peaceful atmosphere in Bangladesh, celebrating their respective religious festivals in harmony.
"Religion is a personal matter, but all individuals are equal in the eyes of the state," Dr. Poddar stated.
Following his remarks, he distributed clothes to those in need.
