Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N)- The final rituals of the Sharidiya Durgotsava are being observed today, marking the culmination of this year’s Durga Puja celebrations. Due to the overlap of Navami and Dasami Tithis , the two major ceremonies will be conducted on the same day this year.
The Navami rituals will conclude early in the morning at 6:12 am , following the prescribed puja rites. Immediately after, the Dasami Tithi begins, commencing with the worship of Goddess Durga. The focus will then shift to the Bisarjan Prastha , the preparation for the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga, which symbolizes her return to Kailash .
Following the immersion preparations, devotees will gather for the Aparajita Puja and receive peace blessings within the temple premises. According to the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma , this marks the time when Goddess Durga departs from the mortal world and rides back to Kailash on a horse.
The immersion of the idols will take place at different times, with some regions, including the capital Dhaka , opting to perform the ritual tomorrow.
According to traditional beliefs, Goddess Durga descended to the mortal world from Swamiloka Kailash on Mahasaptami and now bids farewell as the Durga Puja festivities come to a close.
The conclusion of these rituals brings an end to the grand annual Durga Puja , one of the most significant religious festivals for Hindus, celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion across Bangladesh.
