To repatriate 330 members of the Myanmar security forces and others who had sought sanctuary in Bangladesh, a delegation from Myanmar, led by Ambassador Aung Kyaw Moe, arrived at the Naval jetty ghat in Inani, Cox's Bazar district, on Thursday at 9:50 a.m. via speedboat.
The members had entered Bangladesh as a means of escaping fighting between armed rebel groups and the Myanmar authorities.
Under the supervision of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), persons, including personnel of the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP), are being repatriated. BGB's public relations officer, Shariful Islam, had earlier verified the procedure and mentioned that the people were transferred by six busses from Nhila and Ghumdum points to Inani earlier in the day.

Due to mortar shell hits from Myanmar, a lady and a man from the Rohingya community in Bangladesh have died as a result of the border tension. According to Md. Shamim Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of the Ukhiya Police Station, another unidentified body was discovered on February 8 in the Rahmaterbil border region of Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
Furthermore, on February 9, BGB agents arrested 23 Rohingyas who were attempting to enter Bangladesh while carrying 12 guns and 868 rounds of ammunition. A judge later ordered a 3-day detention for each person engaged in a complaint filed at the Ukhiya police station under the Arms Act.
