Dhaka, Nov 20 (V7N) – Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus stressed the necessity of transforming Bangladesh's education system to inspire creativity and cultivate entrepreneurs instead of producing job seekers.

Dr. Yunus expressed his concerns during a visit to the education ministry offices at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday.

"Entrepreneurship is innate in humans, yet our education system focuses on creating job seekers, which is a significant flaw," he stated.

He called for educational reforms to encourage creativity, adding, "We need an education system that nurtures innovation and helps our youth reach their full potential."

While chairing his first Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, Dr. Yunus warned against prioritizing test scores, noting, "The mindset that test scores are everything must change."

Dr. Yunus also underlined the importance of narrowing generational divides, urging policymakers to better understand the goals and thought processes of the younger population.

"We need to grasp the language, dreams, and thinking patterns of our youth to enable meaningful exchanges between generations," he explained.

He cautioned that a growing gap between young and older generations could lead to societal challenges and emphasized the importance of aligning governmental perspectives with youth aspirations.

Furthermore, Dr. Yunus advocated for incorporating family values into the national curriculum to reinforce the social fabric.

Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud and Senior Education Secretary Siddique Zobair joined the chief adviser during his discussions with senior officials of the education ministry.
