Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) — Land Advisor AF Hasan Arif has called for innovation in addressing land disputes and societal challenges, stating that the sacrifices of the nation's youth in securing a new Bangladesh must be honoured with forward-thinking solutions. He made these remarks during a conference with officials and employees at Bhumi Bhavan on Tuesday morning.
Reflecting on long-standing issues, Hasan Arif questioned why unresolved land problems persisted for the past 16 years, noting that such disputes often lead to criminal activities in society. "We need to focus on error-free operations and innovative approaches to tackle these challenges," he said.
He emphasised the importance of prioritising people's rights in land administration and highlighted the missed opportunity of a comprehensive master plan over the past 53 years. “If the government had a master plan, housing issues would not have reached this scale,” he remarked, labelling it a national concern.
Acknowledging the limitations of the interim government, which may leave office within a few months, Hasan Arif urged for as many solutions as possible to be implemented during this time to mitigate the housing and land-related problems.
The advisor's remarks underline the urgency for reform and strategic planning in addressing critical land issues in Bangladesh.
