Dhaka, Dec 11 (V7N) – Retired police officers in Bangladesh staged a protest march on Wednesday morning, condemning what they described as Indian aggression and a misinformation campaign targeting the country.

The Retired Police Officers Welfare Association organized the event, which began at 11:20 a.m. in front of Rajarbagh Police Lines.

Hundreds of participants joined the march, aiming to present a memorandum of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The procession traversed Shantinagar, Kakrail, and Matsya Bhaban before concluding at the National Press Club, where a rally was planned with speeches from former officers.

The march was led by M Akbar Ali, a former additional inspector general of police and the acting president of the association. In his opening remarks, Akbar stated, "India’s dominance will not succeed in Bangladesh. Retired police officers are always prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty."

The protesters accused Indian media of fostering tensions and attempting to disrupt communal harmony in Bangladesh.

They also criticized what they referred to as interference by "fascist Sheikh Hasina," claiming that her actions encouraged disruptive influences from abroad.
