Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N)- Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin has stated that the issue of bringing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back from Delhi is an inter-ministerial matter. He emphasized that the government would make efforts to bring her back to Bangladesh if high-level instructions are received. He made these comments during a briefing at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday regarding the upcoming visit of the President of East Timor to Dhaka.

Uddin also addressed the ongoing discussions with Indian authorities regarding the return of 79 Bangladeshi sailors detained by the Indian Coast Guard. He expressed hope that the sailors would be brought back to Bangladesh soon.

Regarding the visit of the President of East Timor, Uddin announced that this will be the first visit of the East Timorese President to Bangladesh. The visit will take place from December 14 to 17, and the President will also attend the Victory Day celebrations on December 16. During this visit, an agreement will be signed that will allow Bangladeshi officials and diplomatic passport holders to travel to East Timor without the need for a visa.

These developments reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and address critical issues related to Bangladesh's international ties.
