Dhaka, Dec 29 (V7N) — The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee have announced their plan to issue the "July Revolution Declaration" on December 31. Leaders have urged citizens to take to the streets in the same spirit as August 5, calling it a pivotal moment in shaping the future of Bangladesh.

The announcement was made during a press conference at Bangla Motor in the capital on Sunday.

Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens' Committee, stated, "The July Revolution Declaration will mark the end of outdated systems and herald a new Bangladesh. A draft has been prepared, and we are collecting amendments and suggestions from people of all professions and political affiliations that supported the July Revolution."

Hasnat Abdullah, Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, expressed concerns about ongoing domestic and foreign conspiracies since the revolution on August 5. He added, "The declaration will symbolize the aspirations of a new Bangladesh. On December 31, the Mujibist constitution of 1972 will be declared obsolete, and the Awami League will be rendered irrelevant in Bangladesh's future political landscape. The manifesto will also emphasize justice and equity."

Abdul Hannan Masud, Chief Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, encouraged nationwide participation, particularly from those unable to join the August 5 events. "This will be a historic moment at the National Shaheed Minar, where people from all walks of life will witness the announcement of a new Bangladesh," he said.

Social media platforms have been abuzz with posts from the verified pages of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee. Posts reading "December 31, 2024, are the revolutionaries ready?" and "Proclamation of July Revolution" have gone viral, further amplifying anticipation.

The declaration, set to be announced at the National Shaheed Minar, is expected to outline the vision for a new Bangladesh and reflect the aspirations of its citizens.
