Dhaka, July 21 (V7N) - The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results of the 48th Special BCS written examination (MCQ format), with 5,206 candidates declared successful and now eligible to appear for the viva voce (oral examination).
The announcement was made shortly after midnight on Sunday, confirmed by BPSC’s Public Relations Officer, S.M. Matiur Rahman, in a statement to national media outlets.
According to the official notification, the written exam was conducted on July 18 as part of the 2025 cycle for the Special BCS. Of the successful candidates, 4,695 qualified for the post of Assistant Surgeon, while 511 qualified for the position of Assistant Dental Surgeon.
The full list of qualified candidates and related information has been published on the BPSC's official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd.
BPSC noted that it reserves the right to revise the published results if any justified corrections become necessary.
The two-hour exam was held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 27 centers across Dhaka. Although 41,025 candidates registered to sit for the test, the commission has not released the final attendance count.
Earlier on Sunday, Matiur Rahman had stated that the commission was working to publish the results in line with its roadmap. While the initial target was Monday, expedited preparations allowed for an early release.
Sources at BPSC confirmed that the 48th Special BCS aims to recruit 3,000 medical professionals, including 2,700 Assistant Surgeons and 300 Assistant Dental Surgeons.
This special recruitment initiative is designed to address critical healthcare staffing shortages in government medical facilities, particularly in rural and underserved regions of the country.
