Dhaka, Jan 01 (V7N) — Education Advisor Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud expressed regret over the inability to distribute new textbooks to all students at the start of the academic year. He attributed the delay to various obstacles and conspiracies.

Dr. Mahmud made these remarks at the inauguration of the EFT program and the launch of the online version of the 2025 academic year's textbooks on the NCTB website. The event was held at the International Mother Language Institute (AMAI) in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, on Wednesday morning.

During the event, the NCTB Chairman provided an update on the distribution process:

Out of 41 crore textbooks, 6 crore have already been delivered to schools.

Another 4 crore books are expected to be delivered by the end of the day.

Remaining primary school books will reach students by January 5, and eight secondary school books by January 10.

Despite these efforts, the Secretary of the Ministry of Education acknowledged that the full distribution might take until January 30.

The NCTB Chairman highlighted the challenges faced this year, including revising 441 books within a tight two-and-a-half-month schedule and printing an additional 67.9 million books. The revised books boast improved brightness and quality.

While students await the remaining books, the Education Advisor assured that all efforts are being made to overcome these hurdles and ensure timely delivery in the future.
