President asked the police to keep working tirelessly in the service of the nation and its citizens, instilling in them a sense of loyalty, honesty, and patriotism.

At a "Police Week 2024" event held at the Bangabhaban here this afternoon, President Mohammed Shahabuddin urged the Bangladesh Police personnel to serve the people with selflessness as they are their devoted friends.

"The only place the general public can rely on is the police... Always provide the people with unselfish services. On the second day of the current police week, he addressed senior police officials here, "Police in Bangabandhu's Bangladesh will always stand by the people as a friend and ensure security."

"People always believe that police will help them," President said. To gain the public's confidence by helping others, you must put in more effort.

He said, "The common people are still afraid to go to the police station, none wants to go to the police station unless forced."

The President recommended that law enforcement eliminate people's unwarranted worry or fear of problems. Mohammed Shahabuddin counseled the police to increase their commitment to providing the citizens who visit their stations seeking legal advice with sincere and committed service.

He urged extra caution to make sure that normal street checks don't result in unwarranted harassment of anyone.

In addition, the President stated that the extortion from different goods-carrying vehicles is driving up food prices at the consumer level, worsening the misery of the populace.

He gave the police orders to monitor these activities closely and to prosecute anyone participating in this vicious loop to break it.

In the coming days, the President stated that the police should be more careful in broadening the area of information technology services, citing the ongoing national services such as "Emergency Service 999," "Online Police Clearance," "Online GD," and so on.

The Bangladesh Police will be crucial to the development of "Sonar Bangla," which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina created, and "Smart Bangladesh," which Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, intended, as well as the execution of "Delta Plan-2100."

According to him, one of the requirements for excellent administration and the advancement of the nation's democratic state structure is the law's correct application.

He acknowledged the professionalism and effectiveness of the Bangladesh Police, both male and female, in the UN peacekeeping effort and stated that police officers must take responsibility for the nation's internal security and the development of a secure society.

President Sahabuddin asked the police to keep working tirelessly in the service of the nation and its citizens, instilling in them a sense of loyalty, honesty, and patriotism.

The head of state emphasized the need for "smart policing" to create a "Smart Bangladesh."

On the occasion of "Police Week 2024," the President greeted every member of the Bangladesh Police Force.

He had the utmost regard for every police officer who had heeded the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, and made the ultimate sacrifices on that fateful night of March 25, 1971, upholding public safety, upholding law and order, and dying of COVID 19.

There were top officials from Bangladesh Police, mostly district SPs and higher, as well as secretaries responsible for Bangabhaban, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, and other relevant departments.
