On Wednesday afternoon, fifty parliamentarians who were chosen to fill reserved seats for women took their oath of office.

According to an official announcement, the oath was administered in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban's oath chamber by Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.

The following people were present: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Deputy Speaker Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku, MP, whips Iqbalur Rahim, MP, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapon, MP, Md. Nazrul Islam Babu, MP, and whip Shaimum Sarwar Kamal, MP.

Afterward, the newly elected MPs signed the oath book.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by Senior Secretary of the National Parliament, KM Abdus Salam. Two MPs from the Jatiya Party took the oath after the first 48 MPs from the Awami League did.
