Dhaka, Mar 14 (V7N) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres held a high-level meeting in Dhaka on the second day of his official visit to Bangladesh. The meeting took place at 9 AM at the Intercontinental Hotel and was attended by key government officials and international representatives.
Guterres was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain, while Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Principal Adviser on Development, and representatives from the European Commission (ECU) were also present.
The UN chief arrived in Dhaka on Thursday (March 13) for a four-day visit, following an invitation from Interim Peace Principal Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. This marks Guterres' second visit to Bangladesh in nearly seven years, with his previous visit occurring in July 2018.
During his stay, the UN Secretary-General is expected to engage in discussions on peace, development, and humanitarian cooperation, addressing critical issues concerning Bangladesh’s political and socio-economic landscape.
