In a speech delivered at the 19th Extraordinary CFM of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud emphasized the urgent need for OIC member states to pursue alternate measures to halt the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which he described as escalating into genocide. He underscored the importance of upholding humanitarian and human rights for the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression.

Dr. Hasan reiterated Bangladesh's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and urged for an immediate ceasefire while advocating for the establishment of humanitarian corridors to ensure the delivery of essential aid to affected populations. He emphasized the necessity of the Islamic Financial Safety Net to address the pressing needs of Palestinians.

Highlighting Bangladesh's recent strong stance at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the legal ramifications of Israel's policies in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Dr. Hasan expressed hope for a swift establishment of peace in the region, aligning with the aspirations of the Muslim Ummah.

Dr. Hasan also addressed the ongoing developments at the United Nations Security Council, stressing the imperative for its reform to effectively address global issues. He reiterated the call for unity within the Muslim Ummah and urged all parties to work towards ending the atrocities against the Palestinian people, enabling them to reside safely and peacefully in their homeland.
