Cox's Bazar, Mar 21 (V7N) – Religious Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain has announced the end of the practice of airline ticket syndicates for Hajj and Umrah. Speaking at the inauguration of the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center in Cox's Bazar on Friday, he clarified that the days of selling group tickets at inflated prices are over.

From now on, passengers will be required to book their airline tickets using the passport number of the concerned individual. Hossain emphasized that no more syndicates would be allowed to charge additional prices for group bookings. He added that any airline ticket not issued within three days would automatically be canceled, aiming to prevent the practice of double or triple pricing for group bookings.

Hossain also highlighted the features of the new District Model Mosque in Cox's Bazar. The mosque can accommodate 1,100 men for prayers at a time, and it has separate facilities for women and the physically and visually impaired. The mosque complex also includes ablution areas, prayer rooms, a conference hall, auditoriums, Quran education facilities, Islamic Foundation offices, libraries, and Imam training centers.

The mosque is part of a larger initiative by the government to construct 564 model mosques across the country at a total cost of 9,500 crore taka, with 350 mosques already completed.

The Religious Advisor also noted the long-standing harmony in Cox's Bazar, pointing out that there is no communal unrest or misunderstanding in the region. He expressed hope that the new mosque would further promote a message of brotherhood in the area.
