Dhaka, Mar 27 (V7N) – Home Secretary Nasimul Ghani has assured that law enforcement agencies, including the police, will remain on high alert to ensure public safety across the country during the Eid holidays.
Speaking to reporters after a procurement committee meeting at the Cabinet Division on Thursday (March 27), the Home Secretary emphasized that security measures have been strengthened, particularly in Dhaka and other major cities, as a large number of people are expected to leave for their hometowns.
“The law enforcement agencies will be on alert for all tasks. A large number of people will be traveling from Dhaka to villages. We are working closely with transport sector stakeholders to make their journey smooth and safe. Hopefully, nothing unexpected will happen,” he said.
He also noted that while the police forces were less active after August 5, they have now resumed full operations and are ensuring a stable law and order situation.
“Our law enforcement agencies do not take holidays. The police force operates 24/7 to maintain security,” the Home Secretary added.
The government aims to prevent any security threats and ensure a peaceful Eid celebration for all citizens.
