Dhaka, Apr 29 (V7N)- Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Dr. Ali Riaz, has stressed the importance of unity in a democratic society, stating that despite differing opinions, the shared goal of institutionalizing democracy should unite all political forces.

Speaking at a meeting between the Revolutionary Workers Party and the National Consensus Commission held at the LD Hall of the National Parliament Building on Tuesday morning, Dr. Riaz said, “The national charter is not just a matter of government initiative. Everyone is sitting together and trying to find a way. The main goal is to institutionalize the democratic struggle.”

He added that the success of this ongoing process would largely depend on the collective efforts and unity of all parties involved.

Revolutionary Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque expressed optimism that the commission would reach a consensus on minimum common goals by early June. He affirmed that the commission's efforts would reflect the democratic aspirations of the people and political parties.
