Dhaka, May 21 (V7N) — The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Reform Unity Council has declared a four-day non-cooperation program demanding the repeal of the ordinance that abolished the organization and the removal of its chairman, Md. Abdur Rahman Khan.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the National Revenue Building in Agargaon on Wednesday (May 21).
Leaders of the council stated that a memorandum will be submitted to the chief advisor on Thursday outlining their four-point demands. On the same day, NBR employees will observe sit-in protests at their respective offices.
Furthermore, a complete strike is scheduled in all offices of the Tax, Customs, and VAT departments—except customs houses and LC stations—on May 24 and 25. During these two days, a strike will also be observed from 9 am to 5 pm at customs houses and LC stations, with exemptions for exports and international passenger services.
Starting May 26, a full strike will continue in all Tax, Customs, and VAT offices, except for services related to international passengers.
