DHAKA, May 24 (V7N) – Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud today affirmed that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has no intention of resigning from his position, and that all members of the advisory council remain committed to fulfilling their responsibilities.

"The Chief Adviser is staying with us. He did not say he will resign. Other advisers are also staying. We have come to perform the responsibilities those were given on us," Mahmud told reporters after an unscheduled meeting of the advisers, which followed the weekly ECNEC (Executive Committee of the National Economic Council) session at the NEC conference room in Agargaon.

The Chief Adviser and all members of the advisory council were present at the meeting.

Responding to queries, Wahiduddin Mahmud emphasized the significance of their assigned duties. "The responsibilities given to us are big. We cannot leave the responsibilities," he stated. He acknowledged that while they are discharging their duties, "obstacles are being created while we are doing our tasks."

The planning adviser added, "We have identified the obstacles. Now we will solve those and perform the responsibilities entrusted to us."

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syada Rizwana Hasan, also speaking to reporters, confirmed that the issue of reforms was among the topics discussed during the advisers' meeting.
