Tokyo, May 30 (V7N) – Principal Advisor to the Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Soka University in Japan, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to social innovation and global development.
The prestigious honor was conferred on Friday (May 30) at a formal ceremony held at the university campus in Tokyo. During the event, Professor Yunus addressed a gathering of distinguished guests, students, and academics, highlighting the importance of social business and sustainable development. Soka University President Suzuki also spoke, praising Yunus’s visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to poverty alleviation.
This recognition marks another milestone in Professor Yunus’s storied career as a global advocate for inclusive economic progress.
Professor Yunus is currently on a four-day official visit to Japan, which began on May 27. He is scheduled to depart Tokyo on Saturday morning via Singapore Airlines, and will return to Dhaka overnight.
