Dhaka, Jun 06 (V7N) — Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has assured that tight security arrangements have been made for Eid-ul-Azha and the upcoming Eid Jamaat in the capital.
Speaking during an inspection of the National Eidgah ground on Friday morning, the DMP Commissioner said, “We have installed CCTV cameras across the entire Eidgah area, including Baitul Mukarram, and deployed 500 patrol teams around the city to ensure maximum security, especially in the largely vacant capital during the Eid holidays.”
He emphasized that no sharp objects will be allowed into the Eidgah premises to ensure the safety of the worshippers. “There is currently no specific security threat, and we’re working to ensure that citizens can celebrate Eid peacefully and safely,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Shahjahan Mia confirmed that the main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 7:30 am on Saturday (June 7). However, in case of unfavorable weather, the main congregation will shift to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8 am.
