The government is set to allocate Tk64.15 crore as an incentive to over nine lakh marginal farmers nationwide to enhance the cultivation and yield of Aush paddy.

This initiative aims to provide 5kg of seed, along with 10kg each of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizers, to each of the nine hundred and forty thousand farmers, enabling them to cultivate Aush paddy effectively on one bigha of land. The Ministry of Agriculture disclosed this information in a press release issued on Tuesday (12 March).

Funded through the Ministry's agricultural rehabilitation assistance program, these incentives are part of the regular budget allocations. Relevant government directives have already been issued to implement this initiative.

The distribution of incentives at the grassroots level is slated to commence shortly, as mentioned in the press release.

Aush paddy cultivation typically occurs between March and April, with harvests taking place in June and July. This timeframe aligns well with the hot summer climate conditions prevalent during March to May, ensuring optimal growth conditions for Aush paddy.
