Dhaka University hosted a seminar on Tuesday to honor India's assistance during Bangladesh's War of Liberation, marking the 52nd anniversary of the ceremonial farewell given by the Indian allied force to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 12, 1972, at Dhaka Stadium, before their departure to India.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma, speaking as a special guest at the event, hailed the day as a historic moment showcasing India's unwavering support to the people of Bangladesh during their struggle for freedom.

Verma expressed gratitude to Dhaka University for organizing the commemorative event, emphasizing its significance in ensuring that the younger generations in both countries understand and appreciate their shared history, including the sacrifices made during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner reassured that India had stood by the people of Bangladesh during the Liberation War of 1971 and reiterated India's commitment to continue supporting Bangladesh in its journey towards becoming a stable, prosperous, and progressive nation.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan attended the event as the chief guest, while the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, presided over the seminar.
