Russia has expressed a keen desire to establish direct air links between Dhaka and Moscow to bolster bilateral relations between the two nations.

The Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexander Mantytskiy, conveyed this interest during a meeting with Bangladesh's Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, Muhammad Faruk Khan. Mantytskiy emphasized the potential for increased tourism from Russia to Bangladesh if direct flights were available.

Furthermore, Russia expressed readiness to assist in the development of Bangladesh's aviation industry. Minister Faruk Khan welcomed Russia's interest and indicated that discussions between the respective authorities of both countries would determine the feasibility of establishing direct air connectivity while ensuring adherence to international regulations. He also highlighted Bangladesh's aspiration to become an aviation hub and its significant progress in the sector over the past 15 years.
