Dhaka, Oct 09 (V7N) – Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has criticized a few “so-called senior journalists” for what he described as attempts to “heat up the market” by making provocative remarks about the upcoming national elections.

“I see that the general public has taken it positively that the elections will be held in February,” Shafiqul Alam said. “But I also notice confusion among a couple of so-called senior journalists. They appear on television and make statements that clearly show they just ‘want to heat up the market’,” he remarked.

He made these comments while responding to reporters’ questions during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (October 9), following the Advisory Council meeting.

Regarding the election process, the press secretary added, “We see that the people of Bangladesh are ready for the elections. The election train has already left the station. If you visit the rural areas, you can feel the electoral atmosphere. Just today, a political party announced its candidate for the upcoming polls.”
