Rome, October 13 (V7N) — Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has proposed the establishment of a social business fund aimed at supporting young agricultural entrepreneurs.

The proposal was made during a meeting with IFAD President Alvaro Lario on the sidelines of the World Food Forum in Rome, Italy. According to a statement from the Principal Advisor’s press wing issued on Monday (October 13), Dr. Yunus emphasized that the proposed fund would contribute significantly to advancing agriculture, healthcare, and entrepreneurship sectors.

Discussions during the meeting also covered deep sea fishing, mango and jackfruit export, climate-resilient agriculture, and the dairy industry. The IFAD President expressed keen interest in collaborating on social business initiatives in Bangladesh.

Dr. Yunus arrived in Rome on Sunday to attend the World Food Forum, where he was welcomed by Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy A. T. M. Rakibul Haque. The global event will continue until October 17.
